In Australia, nearly 2/3 of adults are either overweight or obese, and this is an ever-increasingly problem in children and teenagers too. Many people find it hard to maintain their ideal body weight after they have had success when following a weight loss intervention. There are many reasons why this can happen, but it usually indicates that the weight loss has come from loss of muscle as much as loss of fat.
